Environment

Savills operates more than 200 offices and associate offices around the world. We’re committed to reducing their impact on the environment, and to raising the awareness of our people to help achieve this.

Our Group Environmental policy outlines these aims. It encourages practical officed based initiatives that seek to reduce our impact on the environment to as low a level as is reasonably practicable. These include reducing print and paper waste, sourcing of recycled or sustainable paper products, power down of idle desktop equipment, recycling redundant IT equipment.

We are adopting innovative technology to deliver research information, marketing materials, web-based collaborative forums and marketing brochures, therefore reducing paper, transport costs and waste.

We also operate a ‘Green Group’ to encourage and co-ordinate environmental initiatives across the UK. The group has consolidated our electricity purchase with a single supplier, and put in place strict environmental criteria for choosing energy suppliers.

We encourage all our offices to adopt the environmental management standard BS EN ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management). This is the internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses. Our Hong Kong office has already adopted this international standard and others are set to follow.
